Our trip to Ecuador was amazing! We had two days in Quito, which included a walking tour of downtown and a trip outside town to stand actually right on the Equator and do fun things like balancing a raw egg on the top of a nail or watching how water would go down a drain either clockwise or counter-clockwise if the water being poured was moved just a very few feet either north or south of the Equator. The wildlife in the Galapagos was abundant and totally unbothered by the presence of humans. The entire area is a national park, and naturalists and guides are necessary when hiking on the islands. It was a fascinating week! Highly recommended!
